Back in the 1970s, a report from the World Health Organization revealed 10% of the world population lived with some type of disability. The same research today sees the number rising to 15%. This includes:
– 466 million people with deafness and hearing loss.
– 1.3 billion blind or visually impaired.
– 2-3% of the world population with cognitive disabilities.
Those are some gloomy facts that nobody likes to hear.
I know I don’t but alas, I’m part of these statistics as well (blind with one eye and 25% impairment on the other).
